Seafood Processor Apprentice

Euro USA is seeking a person looking to start a career with a growing company. We offer the opportunity to learn the skill of cutting and preparing fresh fish to customer specifications.

WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WHO IS:

• Willing to learn to clean, bone, slice, scale, and filet multiple varieties of fresh fish delivered daily to our location.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Able to work under tight deadlines.

• Able to follow safe work and sanitation standards.

• Able to read, speak and write English.

Prior experience working in the back of the house or as a Food Prep in a restaurant is a plus.

Learned Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Efficiently process fish to customer specs, while obtaining highest possible quality yields
• Responsible for proper packaging and presentation of hand cut items.
• Clean and sanitize the entire Fish Cutting area and tools.
• Inspect all equipment, including tools, pin bone machine, scales and hoses daily.
• Ensure all labels are clear and readable and have the country of origin on them.
• Maintain SQF standards.

Qualifications and Working Conditions:

• Ability to learn to identify products by size, type, or product code.
• Solid reading skills – must be able to read cut sheets and special instructions as required.
• Possess basic math and reasoning skills.
• Ability to take direction from the Supervisor and/or Trainer and to understand and execute instructions to ensure efficiency.
• Ability to move/lift up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to withstand cool/cold temperatures in a typical food warehouse and processing environment.
• Position spends 6 – 8 hours standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
