Plant Coordinator                                     (Tofino, Vancouver Island)


 


Cermaq Canada Processing is seeking to fill the role of a permanent full-time Plant Coordinator to join our team at our Processing Plant in Tofino, British Columbia, reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor. As the Plant Coordinator you will provide support services related to the distribution of labour and products. Additionally, you will assist the processing team in adhering to internal and regulatory standards of health, safety, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities



  • Know all processing positions within the facility and provide knowledge, guidance, and mentorship to Lead Hands and Technicians. Possess a solid understanding of processing capacities and process flow.

  • Effectively communicate expectations to your team and seek to coordinate the maximum productivity and efficiency of your team.

  • Be the first point of contact for employees’ concerns and escalate urgent or important concerns to Plant Supervision and Management.  

  • Provide constructive feedback in new worker evaluations, Technician promotion evaluations, and other performance management.

  • Ensure compliance with Cermaq Canada Processing’s (CCP’s) Occupational Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental Programs, Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Work Instructions (WI’s) in all processing areas along with all other company policies and procedures.

  • Provide Logistics support to ensure efficient shipping of products.

  • Provide support to our Quality Assurance personnel.

  • Compile plant timesheet and payroll records.


 


Knowledge and Skill



  • 3 years’ experience Leading, Supervising, or Managing Teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Prior experience working in a food production facility.

  • Proven interpersonal and communications skills that drives results.

  • Experience in Logistics controls.


 


Special requirements



  • Prerequisites to hiring are a fitness test and a criminal record check.

  • Upon hire, you are eligible for company benefits, which include extended health, dental, and vision care, AD&D insurance, life and dependent insurance, and long-term disability insurance. A company matching RRSP is available after the 3-month probation period is completed.

  • A starting hourly pay of $28.00 plus a daily bonus dependent on production speeds and attendance targets.


 


 


This position is based out of the Processing Plant in Tofino, British Columbia. Typical shifts would be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, daily overtime may be required. Camp housing may be provided for candidates coming from outside of the Pacific Rim area.
