Meat Clerk
Provides friendly customer service while wrapping, packaging, and pricing merchandise in the Meat Department. Maintains a neat, clean and visually appealing department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Customer Service- Must greet customers and display a positive attitude.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized department.
- Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance regularly; report any failure immediately.
- Utilize and maintain equipment as required by department; report any equipment problems immediately.
- Maintain sanitation control according to Company policy.
- Stock merchandise and display cases.
- Must be knowledgeable about the various types of products carried in the department.
- Keep floors clear of debris and spills.
- Unload trucks and transport merchandise to meat department.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations as they pertain to the Meat operation.
- Check prices and be knowledgeable about locations of items in store.
- Keep shelves and displays fully stocked and faced at all times.
- Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to Company policy.
- Understand and adhere to Company shrink guidelines.
- Assist Department Manager as needed.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Company rules, policies, safety requirements and security standards and all Local, State and Federal health and civil code regulations.
- Remove trash to designated area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with others.
Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk the duration of scheduled shift.
- Ability to repeatedly bend, twist, reach, push, pull, squat and stretch during a shift
- Frequently use both hands to grab, grasp, lift, pull, push and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to extend and reach both arms fully forward.
- Ability to use both arms, shoulders and hands to transfer/load products into bags/carts.
- Regularly twisting torso to properly position body weight.
- Regularly unload trucks and retrieve carts by pushing, pulling carts weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Regularly lift items in and out of carts/boxes.
- Exposure to extreme temperature changes.
- Regularly provide face to face customer service.
