Description

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The HR Specialist assists the HR Manager and Resort Administrator with daily operations and is involved in all HR-Administration functions including payroll assistance, maintenance of data in the HRIS system and sharepoint, employee onboarding/offboarding, maintenance of personnel files, assistance with employee events, assistance with housing inspections, writing out Real Deals to employees and more. The HR Specialist will demonstrate the culture and values of Granby Ranch as a first point of contact for candidates and employees. This position is a seasonal for 2024-2025 season.


Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Establish trust and confidence by maintaining a high level of credibility, integrity, and skilled communications with managers, HR and candidates. 
  • Perform general office duties and provide HR office coverage with professional, friendly, approachable demeanor. 
  • Assist HR Manager / Housing Coordinator with employee housing inspections, data collection and entry into designated spreadsheets and the assistance of uniform distribution and returns. 
  • Greet and assist people with inquiries, answering phones, completing employment verifications, administering hire paperwork and ski vouchers, data entry in HRIS system, maintaining personnel files, scanning and copying, checking and responding in a timely manner to general HR and company email accounts among other administrative duties.  
  • Assist with onboarding process including processing MVR and background checks, I-9 completion and filing, ensuring required documents are signed on-line.  
  • Flexibility in work schedule – availability on weekends and holidays during operating seasons, availability for company orientations and employee functions is required. 
  • Support HR Department with J1 international students with any inquires or requests. 
  • Assist with planning and execution of Pure Awesome employee recognition program and employee events.  

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Working in operations during high volume periods including ski rental, ticket scanning, guest services, shuttle driving. 
  • Assist with Orientation for Winter operating season. 
  • Act as a positive, professional role model, adhering to the company’s hospitality standards.  
  • Maintain an exceptional level of guest service in all interaction with guests, fellow employees and other department managers.
  • Work with all departments to learn critical elements of each position.  
  • Other duties as assigned.   

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:   

  • Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work on numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Speak, read, write in English fluently.  
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.?  
  • Strong computer skills required including a working knowledge of MS Office programs especially Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and ability to learn new software programs.  

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:   

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  
  • College degree preferred.?  
  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and be insurable under our company policy.   
  • Minimum of three (3) years administrative/office experience required.  
  • Previous Human Resources and/or Administration experience required.  
  • Seasonal resort experience and/or ski industry experience preferred. 
  • Recreational participation in ski/snowboarding, nordic, golf, hiking, and/or mountain biking a plus. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:   

  • Must be able to stand 10%, sit or stand 80% and walk 20%.  
  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs.  
  • Dexterity for filing, typing, and other basic office skills.  
  • Verbal and auditory abilities necessary for communication with others.  
  • Primarily office work with regular travel outdoors for various duties in a mountain environment with variable weather conditions.  
  • Occasional requirements for outdoor work to assist with events.

Salary Description
